Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize not for his achievements, but for what he represents – hope. The news has been met with incredulity, confusion and criticism from all corners. Critics and experts are asking what Mr. Obama has done to justify the honour, whether he is the “champion of peace” Albert Nobel envisaged and whether the U.S. President is indeed even eligible to receive the award.

Are we living in an alternate universe? Are we in bizarro land? Somebody pinch me cause I’m having a freaking nightmare! I know what you’re all saying, Bob why are you so upset? The nobel peace prize doesn’t mean anything. Al Gore won it. Jimmy Carter won it. It’s useless. It’s like winning a gold medal in the special olympics, nobody cares. Well you know what? I care!!
It’s an insult to every living breathing person in this world that this guy gets an award for doing nothing! Absolutely nothing!! This is like giving somebody a high school diploma on their first day of kindergarten! Are you freaking kidding me?!!
What’s next? Do I open the paper tomorrow? Do I turn on the news and see that Snap, Crackle and Pop were given an award for culinary excellence? Do I see that Roman Polanski was given an award for all the great work he’s done with children over the years? Do I see that Cayle Anthony’s mom just got awarded Mother of the Year? Or that Mary Kay Letourneau was awarded Educator of the Century? Are you freaking kidding me?!!

President Obama awarded the Nobel Peace Prize – shazam!
This video is meant as no criticism for President Obama. The criticism is for the brain dead at the Nobel Peace Prize committee attempting to exert political influence via this meaningless award.
The award became meaningless in 2007 when it was awarded to that snake oil salesman Al Gore over Irena Sendler. Ms. Sendler was a Polish Catholic social worker in Nazi occupied Warsaw, Poland during World War Two Ms. Sendler was responsible for saving the lives of 2,500 Jewish infants from Nazi extermination. Irena was caught by the Nazis, beaten, and tortured. She managed to escape and live till May, 2008. The bums at the Nobel Peace Prize felt Al Gore was more deserving.
President Obama makes the third sitting president to receive the award. First was President Theodore Roosevelt for his role in settling the Japanese / Russian war. President Woodrow Wilson received the award for his work in creating the League of Nations.
Others nominated this year were three victims from communist led China, The Middle Kingdom:
Wei Jingsheng, spent 17 years in commie Chinese labor camp for encouraging reforms in the commie party.
Hu Jia, democracy, environmental, AIDS activist sentenced to 3.5 years in jail for subversive activities.
Gao Zhisheng, human rights lawyer who attempted to defend Falun Gong practitioners, was kidnapped and tortured.
From the Congo in Africa:
Dr. Denis Mukwege, Congolese doctor who treated 21,000 women over 12 years who were victim of gang rape during Congo’s civil war. Performed up to 10 surgeries a day. His hospital has treated hundreds of thousands of women in the Congo
From another Asian commie nation:
Thich Quang Do Vietnamese patriarch of the Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam, been jailed several times by the Viet commies / Vietcong thugs. In 1999 went to visit an 80 year old patriarch, was forcibly escorted back to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). In 2001 placed under house arrest where police maintain 24 hour cordon around this residence.
2010 should be interesting as Michael Jackson has been nominated.

Four days after becoming President, he ordered the bombing of a village in Pakistan, which is yet another nation the United States has not declared war on.
Has the President worked for the abolition or reduction of standing armies? Certainly not that of the United States. In fact, per his website, he was elected on the promise that he would expand Americas standing army by about 100,000 troops.
Has the President done the most or best work for the holding and promotion of peace congresses? I would say not. Led by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, America has ignored the advice I gave last year and simply proceeded with the typical Bushian gunboat diplomacy and the same old options of bombs or sanctions, sanctions or bombs, as can be seen by the relations with Iran, North Korea, and even Somalian pirates.
Now, it appears the Nobel Committee did infer that this award is payment in advance to pressure Obamas future actions. This logic is downright ridiculous. As a former engineering supervisor, every single award I ever gave was well-earned since to do otherwise would encourage lackadaisical behaviour not only in the awardee, but in the rest of the department and company.
