President Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 9, 2009. The decision was considered stunning by many, though advocated and campaigned for by Obama supporters since his nomination less than a month into his term as America’s first African-American President.

AP reporting:
But, he said, “I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations to confront the challenges of the 21st century.”

Obama will travel to Oslo, Norway, in December to accept the award.

Obama, 48, is the third U.S. president to win the prize while in office, after Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.

It’s funny to know that someone who vote for the war in irak received a nobel “peace” prize. This doest worth.

    So Obama received …
So Obama received an award for his massive failures by the Nobel Prize Committee. I think the award has also been given out to terrorists and other paranoid dictators.

I think Obama should attack Fox News more, seeing that he needs to divert attention away from his failed policies. This country is literally bankrupt and unemployment is over 10% in many parts of the country.

The bloody war in Afghanistan is turning into another Vietnam and the govt takeover of our healthcare is a disaster.

    jimpodi, guess what …
jimpodi, guess what dumbass? The people on the Nobel Prize Committee who chose Obama did not nominate him. They don’t control the nominations. They just control the pick. His being nominated 12 days before he becomes President would mean something if the Committee that picked him nominated him, but they didn’t. You dumb don’t understand that. Robert Mugabe, a dictator was nominated. Anybody can be nominated. nominate him. So you !!!

  7. therazrez Says:

    Well, jimpodi, they …
Well, jimpodi, they HAVE occurred NOW and continue to occur so stop carping and appreciate your President. The Nobel committee clearly had great foresight and they recognised early on that Obama represented far more than fine rhetoric to the hopes of the world. They were proved right and as time goes on, even you may be forced to confront the fact…even if you don’t care about the world beyond your own backyard.

    in support of …
in support of dkcoil’s previous statement, he was nominated 12 days into his presidency. all those things that you just mentioned did NOT occur during those 12 days of his presidency.

I know your not an …
I know your not an American, so you may not remember that TERRORISTS flew 2 planes into our buildings packed with innocent people. That, clerkhog, is a terrorist. Freedom fighters are very different because they fight for their countries FREEDOM not the death of innocent people who believe in different things.

  10. 217Parsons Says:

    I must agree that …
I must agree that nuclear weapons are horrible, but you can’t un-invent something. all you want, but the second we disarm all nukes, we will be on our knees to countries that don’t disarm. Prime example, we tell Iran to stop trying to make nukes and they keep it up. Without a powerful punch to back your words, people like that just won’t listen. Having the biggest baddest weaponry ultimately saves US lives END OF STORY!

  11. clerkhog Says:

not if you get out …
not if you get out of the so called terrorists countrys cause if you did terrorists would no longer be terrorists just ordinary people like you or me. terrorists are just freedom fighters, your on there patch, they dont like it. as you would not like it if some big army marched into your home land and kicked off a warzone. The man you need is Ron Paul

  12. clerkhog Says:

    nukes are the …
nukes are the stupidest invention ever made. they could literally destroy the earth. they should be decommisioned. stop being paronoid, who would you fear more an unarmed person or a person with a knife? cause it all comes back to the same principal

  13. clerkhog Says:

yeah a “life to the …
yeah a “life to the promise of our founding documents” that he does’nt follow. war war more war, it will never end because too much money is being made

  14. 217Parsons Says:

    Being the first to …
Being the first to give up nukes is the worst thing he can do. The single best way to keep peace is to prepare for war. That has always been the mentality of America and that’s the reason people stopped with us for so long. We have become soft as a nation and that will be our downfall. Bomb us in the 40’s we were bringing to your country, bomb us today we will come over and play patty cake with you. United States of China here we come, and you think life is bad now.

    I don’t understand …
I don’t understand all the non sense attack on Obama which he did not choose to be nominated to a Nobel Prize. An unbiased organization gave it to him. And calling him a terrorist is really stupid and shows inability to speak other than nasty words. He is the first president to start talk and peace with all the sides, something we haven’t seen for a while anywhere in the planet. And going after people who bomb or threaten to bomb his land is not called an act of terrorism. Facts looks mixed up.

  17. chinchonchinchon Says:

True, Obama is just a nice speaker.

  18. chinchonchinchon Says:

    Yet he still …
Yet he still endorses the bombing of civilians in Afghanistan, send prisoners to be tortured in Egypt…yes, sooner or later, peace will shine on this planet earth.

  19. Mausome Says:

    His biggest …
His biggest accomplishment as president so far … winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

  20. USAon3 Says:

    Yeah, world peace.. …
Yeah, world peace…accepting a prize he has yet to earn, just hours before sitting down at his WAR COUNCIL to decide whether to send more troops into Afghanistan.
I should get a Nobel Peace prize, too. After all, I haven’t done anything either – just like Barry.

  21. therazrez Says:

    Whether or not it …
Whether or not it suits your blinkered view, dlkcoil, a “true statement” is exactly what I made. These are the facts for which Obama has been recognised. And secondly talk is not just talk. Talk can be many things, ranging from paranoid, ill informed clap-trap like yours to courageous, forward thinking constructive diplomacy like Obama’s. Oh, and don’t worry to much, America still has the fire power to obliterate the planet several times over. It’s hardly weak to admit that’s insane.

  22. dlkcoil01 Says:

    Hey! This award …
Hey! This award was given to the head of a terrorist organization who’s full intention was to destroy Israel. Its a complete joke, not an honorific anymore. Too bad that Obama is not able to see through all the hype and so on. He’s being played like a fidel or is there a darker agenda taking place at the expense of America’s sovereignty. I truly believe that ladder. Else why would the president basically tell the world he’s going to weaken America militarily.

  23. dlkcoil01 Says:

This is not a true …
This is not a true statement at all. He was nominated 12 days into his presidency. Talk is just talk by the way. What better way for our enemies to get better armed than to pretend to be diplomatic while building up. We have a president in office now who is willing to bring his own nation to its knees. By disarming America will make the world more unstable. Have we forgotten so quickly what happened with towers. A weak presidency in the U.S. leads to bolder terrorist. Just watch.

  24. dlkcoil01 Says:

    For a smart person; …
For a smart person; he totally missed how he is being completely manipulated. He won a nobel peace prize for what? His nomination for it was done 12 days into it. This should have been rejected by him, because its a clear manipulation of the American presidency by a select group of individuals. This is just wrong. Too bad we have all this intelligence around, and yet no wisdom at all. Has he forgotten that destroying America’s military power will only make the world more unstable. Wow!!!

  25. therazrez Says:

    Some facts about …
Some facts about Obama (in case you missed them when you were watching U.S. centric TV news):
“He replaced military threats with dialogue with Iran and North Korea. He has begun talks with Russia on nuclear disarmament. He has prioritised peace in the Middle East. He has reached out a hand of friendship to the Muslim world. He has thrown Washington’s recalcitrant attitude to global warming into reverse. All change begins with a change of mind by one individual and Obama has been that person”.
