This Commission, which claims that it awards people with accomplishments of peace and commitment for the common good, have sometimes failed to recognize people who truly deserves to win their prizes.
For example, the late Pope John Paul II, in his 26 years of pontificate, he had a vast influence and outstanding acts of promoting peace and unity, not only among the few, but to all people, of different races and faiths.
But did the late Pope ever received their award?
Now, Obama, who has NO peace accomplishment, is the 2009 "awardee" of this commssion.
It’s just part of the global marketing of Obama.
Lata – O Mere Pyar Aaja – Bhoot Bangla [1965]
“Bhoot Bungla” is a popular 1965 Hindi film directed by Mehmood, who stars in the film alongside Tanuja and Rahul Dev Burman. The film title is a common Hindi expression meaning haunted house, or literally, a ghost house.

Lata Mangeshkar ( born September 28, 1929) is a highly known playback singer in the Indian Hindi movie industry. Mangeshkar’s career started in 1942 and has spanned over six decades. She has done playback singing for over 980 Bollywood movies, and has sung songs in over twenty Indian languages. She is the elder sister of the equally accomplished singer, Asha Bhosle….

Lata Mangeshkar has won several awards and honors, including Padma Bhushan (1969), Padma Vibhushan (1999), Dada Saheb Phalke Award (1989), Bharat Ratna (2001), three National Film Awards, and 12 Bengal Film Journalists’ Association Awards. She has also won four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards. In 1969, she made the unusual gesture of giving up Filmfare Best Female Playback Award, in order to promote fresh talent. She was later awarded Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.
In 1984, the State Government of Madhya Pradesh instituted the Lata Mangeshkar Award in honor of Lata Mangeshkar. The State Government of Maharashtra also instituted a Lata Mangeshkar Award in 1992.
In 1974, The Guinness Book of Records listed Lata Mangeshkar as the most recorded artist in the history, stating that she had reportedly recorded “not less than 25,000 solo, duet and chorus backed songs in 20 Indian languages” between 1948 and 1974.
Although the entry has not been printed in Guinness editions since 1991, reputable sources claim that she has recorded thousands of songs, with estimates ranging up to figures as large as 50,000.

Mayo Clinic Awarded Major Grant for Ovarian Cancer Research
Investigators at the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center have received a five-year, $11.5 million grant to translate research into treatments for women with ovarian cancer.
Every year in the United States, more than 16,000 women die from the disease and another 22,000 are diagnosed, according to the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The award from the NCI is called a Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant. It is the seventh SPORE grant that Mayo has received to support cancer research.
“The Mayo Ovarian Cancer SPORE is uniquely poised to address key challenges in ovarian cancer,” says Lynn Hartmann, M.D., lead investigator of the newly awarded SPORE. “Our balance of basic, population science and clinical research programs within the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center enables us to pursue major issues in ovarian cancer, such as chemotherapy resistance, and quickly move new approaches into the clinic.”
During the past 30 years, improved treatment options for women with ovarian cancer have extended the average length of survival after diagnosis, but the ultimate cure rate has not changed significantly.

Obama Nobel Peace Prize
President Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 9, 2009. The decision was considered stunning by many, though advocated and campaigned for by Obama supporters since his nomination less than a month into his term as America’s first African-American President.

Obama will travel to Oslo, Norway, in December to accept the award.
